Free Apps To Keep You Entertained during Quarantine (or otherwise!)

Are you also finding yourself spending a significant amount of time zoning out with social media, Netflix, and TV? As we approach the new normal, a lot of you may have become comfortable at home( and we love that!). This is a great time to use to hone a few skills and sway away from the binge-watching! You know what they say, right? An app a day keeps the boredom away. So, consider downloading these apps that are sure to keep your body and mind busy. After all, mental health is just as important as physical health. Also, these are totally free to use. So, what better time than now to make use of them?

Physical Health

Peloton

Number one on our list is the most found workout app, Peloton. Scrolling on social media is one of the many signs of not being productive. In order to fix it, Peleton, the workout app, is now offering a free 90-day subscription! Yes, you read that right. This basically means you are sorted for a good 3 months, and it includes updated workout routines, strength training and yoga. One of the few great free apps in the fitness realm

HIIT Workout

While browsing through free apps on the App Store, I came across HIIT Workout. This one is basically ideal for those who want a slightly intense workout, as it involves exercises that are sure to burn fat faster. They have beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, so you can start slow and build your stamina, as you head towards the more advanced level. Download here

Lose Weight in 30 Days

This too, just like HIIT Workout, is a completely free app, except this includes a routine set of workouts AND meal plans for free! You can, however, create a customized routine plan based on your requirement, for an additional fee. Otherwise, the app works just as fine and you don’t even have to spend a dime!

Mental Health

Smiling Mind

As cited earlier, mental health is equally important, and so, allow us to introduce to you, Smiling Mind. Since we’re all at home, and perhaps dealing with different struggles, this app is certainly going to help keep your mental health in check. There are various programs to choose from such as Adults, Kids. Youth, Families, and more. Depending on what you are feeling, you can customize the program to your requirements. This, I believe, is the ideal app for the current scenario where everyone is dealing with various issues

Duo Lingo

Always wanted to learn a new language, but didn’t have the time for it? Well, now’s the time! Duolingo is the perfect app for those wanting to enhance their multilingual skill, as it includes a wide range of languages. It starts from the basics and moves on to intermediate and finally advanced, and has tests after each round, for you to understand how much you’ve learned. It’s free, so what more would you want? 100% one of the few free apps I used to upskill and keep busy!

Drop Recipes

A simple and easy to use app, where you can search for meal recipes based on preferences such as the cooking style (quick and easy, one-pot, under 30-minute, etc), appliance used and meal type. Now you might be wondering why should I download an app when Youtube offers tons of it, which is also for free. Well, as I’ve mentioned above, you can customize the meal type, making it super easy for you to find a recipe based on your tools and requirements. While browsing online, it may take a while until you find the right recipe.
