10 Easy homemade recipes to try in Quarantine

Quarantine sure is bringing out the chef inside everyone, so here we are, bringing to you some easy to make recipes that you can try this quarantine period minutes in the comfort of your home. And for the couch potatoes, we hope this helps you take the big step out of your couch and into the kitchen. In fact, for most of the recipes, you would probably already have the ingredients lying on your shelf, behind the most used spices, waiting for a chance to showcase its full potential. Vegan Chocolate Date Balls

What You’ll Need

  • Pitted Medjool dates
  • Natural almond butter
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Vanilla extract

Optional ingredients

  • Cinnamon powder
  • Toppings: You may add toppings if you want. Cocoa powder, unsweetened shredded coconut, nuts, sesame seeds, etc. (time to get creative!)


  1. Process the ingredients (except for the topping ingredients) in your food processor. They will turn into dough.
  2. Quickly knead the dough. Divide it into balls and roll them in the toppings. (Wear gloves or oil your hand, it will make the process so much easier.)
  3. Refrigerate them for an hour before enjoying your Healthy Vegan Chocolate Date Balls.

Kunafa Toast

What You’ll Need

  • Bread – 4 slices
  • Kunafa dough / roasted vermicelli-1 cup crushed
  • Egg – 1 beaten
  • Thick cream – 2 tbs
  • Mozzarella cheese – 2 tbs optional
  • Ghee/ butter – 4 tbs
  • Sugar syrup – 1/2 cup (1 cup sugar 1 cup water, 1 tbs rose water, 3 pods cardamom boil all and reduce to thick simple sugar syrup)


  1. To the bread slice spread in thick cream generously, add in the mozzarella cheese and cover with another slice of bread.
  2. Dip in egg wash and then coat with the kunafa or vermicelli.
  3. To a pan add in ghee /butter and toast in both the sides till crispy and pour in generously sugar syrup and have it warm.

Nutella Mousse

What You’ll Need

· Whipping cream – 2 cup whipped

· Thick Cream – 1 cup (fresh cream or tin cream)

· Condensed milk – 3 tbs

· Icing sugar -3 tbs

· Nutella – 4 tbs (more or less)

· Ferrero Rocher – 5 Nos crushed (optional)

· Gelatin – 1 tbs melted in 3 tbs water (optional)


  1. Whip the whipping cream to stiff peaks and keep aside.
  2. Beat cream, condensed milk, Nutella, crushed ferrero rocher and icing sugar.
  3. Slowly fold the whipping cream to the Nutella cream mix.
  4. In case your cream mix is too loose and watery then add in gelatin mixed or add in more whipping cream to get that creamy consistency.
  5. Keep in fridge for 2 hrs. to set.

Turkish Eggs

What You’ll Need

· Turkish labneh – 1/2 cup

· 1 small clove of garlic minced

· Olive oil – 1tsp

· Poached eggs

· Pinch of salt.


  1. Mix everything in a bowl and add 2 poached eggs and pour chili oil (melt 1tbsp butter, 1tsp olive oil in a sauce pan & add pinch of cayenne chili powder) & garnish with a pinch of salt, parsley & chili flakes.
  2. Serve with toast!

Vegan Garlic Bread

What You’ll Need

· Vegan butter or olive oil – 1/3 cup

· Minced garlic cloves – 4 pods

· 1 loaf

· Finely chopped parsley – 2 tbsp

· Vegan parmesan – 3 tbsp (optional)

· Salt/chili flakes – as per taste


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Mix butter, garlic and parsley.
  3. Spread evenly on the bread with parmesan.
  4. Transfer to oven and toast for 10 minutes or until lightly toasted.
  5. Let it cool and then dig in.

Alfredo Pasta

What You’ll Need

· Onion – 1 medium size

· Garlic – 2

· Mushrooms – 4

Dry Ingredients:

· Oregano

· Chili flakes

· Black pepper

· Salt

Wet Ingredients:

· Milk – 1 cup

· Fresh cream – ½ cup

· Cheese – 500 gms


  1. Boil pasta.
  2. Chop onion, garlic, mushrooms and fry in butter/oil.
  3. Add veg stock, flakes, and fry for a minute.
  4. Add cream and milk, stir and let it cook till thickened.
  5. After about 7-8 minutes add in the cheese.
  6. Lastly add oregano, stir, add pasta and serve.

Ice Cream Bread

What You’ll Need

· Vanilla ice cream – 1 pint

· Self-rising flour – 1 ¼ cup

· Sprinkles


  1. Add the melted ice cream.
  2. Mix the flour in 2 parts, stir and add sprinkles.
  3. Bake at 175 C for 35-40 minutes and serve with ice cream.


What You’ll Need

· Milk – 1cup

· Flour – ¾ cup + 1 tbsp

· Butter – 1 tbsp

· Salt – ½ tsp

· Eggs – 3

· Sugar and cinnamon to coat them


  1. Bring the milk and butter to a boil.
  2. Later add in the flour and salt, and mix till thick.
  3. Keep stirring till it reaches the texture of playdoh.
  4. Remove from heat, let cool for a while and then add in the eggs. Whip together till it thickens.
  5. Put it in a piping bag and fry till golden brown.
  6. Once done, coat in sugar cinnamon mix, and serve hot.

#NoBake Peanut Butter coconut cookies

What you’ll need

1 cup melted peanut butter

1 cup shredded coconut

1 tbsp vanilla essense

2 tbsp coconut oil

Fold all the ingredients together, put it on a baking tray in small balls and freeze until solid!


Homemade Healthy Nutella

What you’ll need

1 cup roasted hazulenuts

1 tbsp vanilla essence

1 tbsp salt

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 cup dates

Instructions: Blend all the ingredients together until it is a smooth paste, refridgerate until cool!
