The best fried chicken in Dubai splits into three camps — Korean, Nashville-hot and the fast-food institutions people are weirdly loyal to. These are the 15 spots I actually order from, grouped by what kind of fried chicken you are in the mood for.
This is my living list of the best fried chicken in Dubai, and I update it as places open, close and change their prices. Prices move constantly here, so I have left them off until I have re-checked each menu rather than guess at you.
Korean: the best fried chicken in Dubai for crunch
Some of the best fried chicken in Dubai sits in this camp — double-fried, thin-shelled and sauced rather than breaded. If you want the crunch that survives delivery, this is the camp.
Kyochon
The original is the one to order, but the red pepper chicken is where it gets interesting — properly spicy, not just sweet. The honey range is the safe pick if you are feeding people who claim they do not like spice.
Japang
Japanese rather than Korean, but it belongs in this camp — karaage-style, and the sauce selection is the whole point. Juicy in a way most fried chicken in this city is not.
Nashville hot and the American imports
The loudest corner of the best fried chicken in Dubai scene. Cayenne-heavy, served with pickles, and usually accompanied by a heat scale designed to make you order badly.
Dave’s Hot Chicken
Tenders marinated in a spice blend and fried to order, with heat levels from Mild up to Reaper. The Reaper is not a dare you should take casually.
Jailbird
One of the more consistent kitchens on this list. Nashville-style bun’d chicken, boneless tenders and classic Southern fried, all done properly.
Pepper’s
Nashville hot sandwiches on a soft bun with pickles and slaw, plus tenders and wings. Solid, unfussy, and the sauce choice actually matters here.
Salt
Better known as a burger joint, but the fried chicken burger is genuinely one of the best in the city — crisp outside, juicy inside, and the toppings are not an afterthought.
The institutions
The ones that have been feeding Dubai for years, where the queue is part of the experience.
Al Baik
The one that gets people genuinely emotional. Extensive menu, absurdly reasonable, and the garlic sauce does most of the heavy lifting. Expect a queue.
Laffah
Known for shawarma, but the Laffah Fried Chicken is the sleeper order — crispy, served with garlic sauce and pickles, and cheap enough to make a habit of.
Nando’s
The peri-peri original. Flame-grilled rather than deep-fried on most of the menu, but the spice range from mild to extra hot is why people keep going back.
Chicken Cottage
A fast-food chain with branches across the city. Not a destination, but reliable when you are already out and the craving hits.
Chick’n Cone
Fried chicken served in a waffle cone. Gimmick, yes, but it works. JBR and City Walk branches.
Delivery-only
No dining room, no queue — these exist purely on the apps.
Fryd
Fried chicken sandwiches and burgers only. The Classic, Buffalo and Spicy are the three worth knowing, all built on a crisp patty that holds up in transit.
Fricken Chicken
Wings in flavours that range from Honey Sriracha and Hickory BBQ to Chipotle and OG Buffalo. Delivery only, and the flavour range is the draw.
Texas Chicken
The old Church’s Chicken under its international name, with branches across the city. Honey-butter biscuits alongside the chicken, which is the actual reason to order.
Popeyes
Louisiana-style, and the chicken sandwich is the thing — brined, crisp, and the reason the brand landed hard here. Branches across Dubai.
Questions people ask
What is the best fried chicken in Dubai?
It depends on the camp. Kyochon for Korean, Dave’s Hot Chicken or Jailbird for Nashville-style, and Al Baik if you want the one everyone in the city has an opinion about.
Where can I get Korean fried chicken in Dubai?
Kyochon is the benchmark for double-fried Korean style. Japang is the closest thing to it for Japanese karaage with a proper sauce range.
Is there halal fried chicken in Dubai?
Yes — the vast majority of fried chicken in Dubai is halal by default, including Al Baik, Laffah, Nando’s, Texas Chicken and Popeyes. Check individually if it matters to you, but it is the norm rather than the exception here.
What is the difference between Nashville hot and Korean fried chicken?
Nashville hot is dry-spiced — cayenne-heavy paste brushed onto a thick, craggy crust, served with pickles. Korean is double-fried for a thin, glassy shell then coated in a wet sauce, usually sweet, garlicky or gochujang-based. Different textures entirely.
