Best Unique themed hostels in India for backpackers

Let’s just begin by saying you are going to thank me after reading this article, if you are on a shoe-string budget, but love going to fun travel destinations, this one is for you! There is this conventional mindset associated with hostels or dorms which goes along the lines of the level of dirtiness, shady people, safety, stealing and also the thought of “what would people think about me”. Let me break your bubble right here and clarify that most of the dorms that are upcoming or newly opened are super hygienic, super safe since all your other roomies are also fellow backpackers and the hostel is some sort of window for you to express yourself freely ( dorm owners usually go by this mantra and strongly believe in it).

You can take my word on it, when I went for a trip to Udaipur I lived at Bunkyard Hostel which was by far one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The stories of numerous travelers that you are bestowed with, it is completely unmatched with anything that you will hear. It is unbelievable to even imagine that staying under roof, all the other backpackers from all over the world have experienced things that will leave you in a state of awe! And it will be one cheap travel getaway you will remember and gloat about for rest of your life 🙂

I urge you all to live – at least once- in your life at a dorm and immerse yourself into an experience and journey that will change the way you perceive travel and low budget trips.

I absolutely love the hostel culture in India and it’s been my way which is why I have sifted out the 5 most unique dorms in India that you have to live at least once in your lifetime! Which one should the best hotel for solo travelers? Read on to find out!

Bunkyard Hostel, Udaipur – Sublime sunsets, piping hot free chais

First of all, Bunkyard’s location is the most idyllic location, it is located at a point where you have stunning views of Lake Pichola, it is a 10-minute walk to the magnificent City Palace and just 2 minutes of a walk from Jagdish Temple. Everything is nearby and that’s the best part for a backpacker – You don’t end up wasting time commuting since everything is nearby and it has the most beautiful terrace ever! If you aren’t one of those planners, the management here plans so many outings such as boat rides, drives to the palaces, visits to folk dances, yoga sessions and social nights!  Just swing along with other solo travelers and get the opportunity to meet and greet so many people from different walks of life!  For chai lovers: They give free chai on the rooftop at sunsets – yes, yes and YES!wheresachi-bestuniquethemedhostelinIndia-BunkyardHostelInUdaipur

Moustache hostel – Quirky, cheap and an experience

I don’t think you will be able to refuse a stay at a dorm that has a name as eccentric as much as your stay will be! Stay prices as cheap as $ (RS600) a night – Moustache hotel is located in Jaipur, Agra, Udaipur, Varanasi, Rishikesh, Pushkar and Jaisalmer. A terrace, game rooms, a kitchen to cook, WIFI, safety lockers! Best budget trip ever? ( I know you are already thinking of booking your trip for a weekend getaway). Also when you land up here don’t forget to notice how everything has been given that touch on Indian-ness.
